새치 아니면 흰 머리...?

I found my first white hair today...

I'm getting old... OR AM I??????

Lately I'm feeling age creeping up on me. I can't believe I'm nearly 30 and yet I have no career goals in mind. Nothing even short term. At the same time, I don't mind because life's an adventure and it's ok to go where the wind takes you.... right?

Maybe I should go back to Canada... maybe...

It's been fun here though. The summer's been pretty cool. Besides work, I went on my first real South-East Asian vacation since I've gotten to Korea. Went to Thailand (Chiang Mai and Bangkok) and to Hong Kong (and Macau). I've caught the travelling bug and now all I want to do is go to different places. Unfortunately, work politics aren't really allowing me to take another vacation anytime soon (and if I can it'll be short notice so I don't think i can really plan anything out). At any rate, it's in my head and I want to eat some good food. I miss spaghetti. I really want to make some homemade spaghetti, but the fridge is sorta busted. Just bought a new one online yesterday and it should be delivered in about a week or two. So until then, I'll just keep eating out. Yummers.

I need to find me something to eat! Ciao!

Oh yeah, apparently tomorrow is the 2 year anniversary of my arrival in the motherland. Yayboo? Maybe. oo.

Something funny... to me at least.

I'm at work right now, so no time for a long blog (not like I write long ones anyway).

First, I bought a scooter for myself as a bday gift. I love it. It's awesome. Except that the weather's still really cold so it's been kinda tough to ride. I have to bundle up by wearing long johns, ski jaket, and a scarf or a bandana over my mouth. I'm like a scooter bandit. I'll post a pic as soon as I can, but for now, I'll just enjoy it to myself. wheeeeeeee!!

Also, here's a video that i saw recently. I dunno why, but I think it's funny. Not hilarious, but just pretty funny. I don't think many others will find it funny, but I still wanted to share.

I can't find an embedding link so here's the URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILvkEHQPHHg&feature=related

Check it out. ^^

omg, wth!

First off, happy new year! It's been a long time since I last blogged. And the last time I said I was back. I guess I was but I didn't really stay. Am I back? We'll see.

Soooooo....

I've been in Seoul, South Korea for the past 14 months. As with all things, there have been ups and downs, but the overall experience here has been amazing. I've visited a few places within Korea, met plenty of great people (and even a few not so good ones), learned a bit more of the language (but not as much as one would expect within the span of a year, and work itself is not that bad at all. I think I actually have some job satisfaction now.

When I first got to Korea, I was grading kids' essays: kids would have an online component of their classes which involves writing essays and our office grades these essays based on a checklist of certain criteria. It's a cushy job, but it's completely brainless and there's zero interaction with students (and not even that much between coworkers since it's all done on the computer). It has a lot of pluses, but for me, I guess I just need something different and this is why I have moved to another division of our company 2 months ago. Now, my job is somewhat harder to describe. For the most part, my job involves doing topical discussion in English with people on the phone, but there are many other components to this job as well. Part of it is, well, blogging. That's right. I get paid to blog. Too bad it's just a small part of my job, but hey, still great stuff. The new position's more work, but I think it's better for me.

Anyway, I just wrote a blog and I thought I'd share it on xanga as well. Btw, this is not the typical sort of blog that I would write on the work website. I only did this upon request of another person who works within our company. I'm very accommodating that way. :)

I have titled this entry as: "To two or not to two?"

Toilets. Delicious toilets. More specifically, older traditional floor toilets. It amazes me that people would use these to go #2 (poo, defecate).

Looking down upon these.... receptacles, I can only think while using one of these, one would encounter many problems or obstacles.

1. Sit or squat???
I suppose it is more sanitary to squat in public toilets, but what if you're in an old residence where the people are clean? Would it be more comfortable just sitting instead of straining your thighs? Would there be a possiblity of "splashback"?

2. Pants on or off???
I can imagine that pants around your ankles could be restricting while squatting. But is it wise to leave your pants on the washroom floor?

3. Elderly friendly?
For those in their twilight years, mobility can be a problem. Have such toilets would seem to create a problem for our cute and friendly old folk with joint problemos. Having nothing to hold onto or help them up seems kind of tough to handle (even for some young people - usually the fat or lazy ones)

A person I know with a fantastic name (his first name happens to be the same as mine) made 2 great suggestions for these thingies which may or may not exist (I don't know. I'm not a toilet expert).

1. Dividers or partitions for the feet to prevent the so-called "splashback." Genius. Pure genius.
2. A rope for people to hold onto and pull themselves up with after they have finished "taking care of business." Brilliance. Sheer brilliance.

Big ups to L-Train for the inspiriation and suggestions in this entry!

You think this entry was gross? At least it wasn't about these:

Can you imagine using these?

At one point, I really wanted to say, "- to two, too" but I just couldn't think of anything truthful where it would have applied. Oh well.

On another note, what the hell happened to xanga????? Things have changed a lot. All these added features I have no clue what they do. Pulse? What the?

Plenty more I want to write about, but it'll have to wait til sometime in the future.
